Born and raised in the North, Mikki moved to Ottawa in 2018. Mikki holds her CAFM designation through AFOA Canada which she earned in 2009. Mikki lost her oldest daughter in 2017 and has since advocated for the health and safety for Inuit both in her home community of Rankin Inlet Nunavut and recently in Ottawa for Urban Inuks.
