About The Conference
Nibwaakaa inaadiziwin (She Is Wise in Ways of Life) is an annual conference about wise practices on addressing violence against Indigenous Women and Mother Earth. It references the wisdom and intelligence of women as well as the life giving power every woman carries within her. This conference supports building Indigenous women’s leadership and developing actionable recommendations that encapsulate our vision of leadership and safer and healthier communities.
About Our Speakers
ONWA is committed to creating space for Indigenous women’s storytelling. This Conference honours and recognizes that Indigenous women have experiential knowledge, teachings, and stories that form a narrative of Indigenous women’s resilience and leadership within their families and communities. The conference captures their voices and perspectives and fosters a discourse of strength that seeks to change the narrative of violence trough collective, cultural and gendered empowerment.
